Why is my phone tapping by itself

@giann, Gio , If phone presently has screen protector,remove and try phone. If under warranty return for repair/replacement/refund. You have already did a couple resets so it is probably not software related. The next thing would be to disassemble the phone, clean the display/digitizer connections with Qtip dampened with 90%+ Isopropyl Alcohol and reseat the connections for good contact, reassemble device and try. What is Ghost touch

Ghost touch is an issue related to your device touch. It is an issue in which the device keeps tapping itself without any consent from the user. It may cause due to problems with the device touch panel or other issues such as damaged screen protector, loose connection, etc.

If your device is receiving random touches without even touching then this issue is known as ghost touch.

1. Screen cover or screen protector

Dust or other material inside your Screen cover could cause an indirect effect on the device’s touch functionality. Ensure that the screen is completely cleaned before attaching the screen protector. Also, ensure that the Screen protector is of good quality and aligns correctly with the device’s screen.

In some cases, cracked screen protectors can also result in ghost touch.

2. Software Issues

Sometimes software Glitches unexpected behavior. System software updates don’t usually cause unexpected touches. However, it could cause such issues. If you manually update your device without checking its compatibility you have these issues.

If your device updating processing is interrupted. It can also have the effect of touch functionality contributing to ghost touch. Faulty software updates may cause a screen to freeze or respond unevenly. Device freezing makes random touches sometimes.

If your device is rooted and have problems with touch panel, then the error could be because of you rooting the device or the software you installed later may have bug or issues.

3. Loosen Connection
